I'm home.
Lack of Internet meant I wasn't able to blip properly and sheer burn out means I will need to try and respond to messages once I've caught up on some sleep.
Top line notes - our tents were right behind the main stage with a fairground the other side and toilets directly behind with a generator next door. I've had about 15 hours sleep total in the 5 nights I was away. I didn't do a single activity or see any of the bands (was too knackered every night to even walk around to the front of the stage). It was very stressful, wearing a high vis jacket with thousands of unhappy campers means you're a bit of a sitting duck even if you're just a volunteer for the charity that the event was supporting.
On the plus side, the weather was amazing, I clocked up over 10 miles every day running around like an eejit helping out where needed and I did get to spend a few days with a dear friend.
The festival, if anyone saw the news started very badly but thankfully managed to claw things back down to the phenomenal efforts of everyone involved. In the end thousands of kids had the time of their lives doing amazing activities and not sat glued to a screen and have now returned home tired and full of great memories.
I've just had my first proper meal since last Tuesday and am delighted to be reunited with a proper bed and bathroom facilities - exhausted and off to bed now. Not the break planned by any stretch of the imagination but so pleased it turned around from a disastrous beginning.
Thanks to everyone for their best wishes on my 3000, hadnt realised so it was a little low key :) Will be back properly once I've had a decent sleep and recovered a bit.
