Diary of an Edinburgher

Shopping

A hot sunny day - no East Coast haar! JR was very happy to go back to the gym! I had to pop to the hospital in Livingston for a follow up to the slight health blip I had in April. I was in and out in five minutes. Mind you, the journey took about 40 minutes each way.

After Elizabeth and Archie went off for the day, we went into town. A bit crazy, mind you, as it’s Bank Holiday weekend, traditionally the busiest weekend in the Festival, but I wanted to go to the Apple shop to ask advice about a niggling fault with JR’s phone. And JR had to collect something. Of course, the Apple Shop doesn’t really cater for folk wandering in with wee problems, though I’m sure I’ve been sent upstairs to consult with a ‘genius’ on other occasions, but I’ve made an appointment for the help desk to ring me tomorrow.

We then went to the new St James Quarter, as they’re both at the east end of town. And it was mobbed! We had a look around the foodie bit, after queuing to get in! Names and contact numbers all being taken. We’ll go back on a more sensible day…

I got the bus home and sat out in the back garden, and in the evening we popped over to visit Hazel and left Archie, tired out after his day, and happy to stay at home with his bone.

I liked this not-yet-open shop, and waited for ages for this chap to move, and he didn’t, so he’s in the shot. I think he had adds a certain something…
