Our Most Expensive Nest Box
The new summerhouse came with two pre-drilled ventilation holes. They have neat covers but we hadn't fitted them yet as The Man has been putting a toggle through the holes when he wants to secure a ladder with a rope.
Before we were up this morning two blue tits and a great tit had ventured into this hole, presumably to see if it was a good enough nest box! The Man had to do a bit of shooing and catching to get them out.
Vent covers now in place!
Also in place today are some temporary steps and underlay. Last November we had new bedroom carpets fitted at the holiday lodge so we kept the old ones and the underlay to act as insulation when we got the summerhouse.
From the two bedrooms I managed to piece together two layers of underlay for comfort and warmth. It took me all day to do this so I don't think I'll be very quick when it comes to laying the carpet.
