Day 10 Devon and Dorset
The weather forecast was really promising this morning so I put on shorts and sun cream and we headed to Lyme Regis. It was a bit cloudy when we got there but I felt hopeful that the clouds would soon disappear and the sun would be with us for the rest of the day. Unfortunately the forecast was wrong again! It remained cloudy and was even a little bit chilly. We wandered around and then enjoyed a cuppa and some people watching on the front while having a rest (something we haven't done much of yet this holiday). Kieran phoned to say the power was off and wanted us to sort it out for him! We weren't sure if it was a power cut or something in the house causing the issue but eventually, after contacting neighbours, talking him through how to check each trip switch and finding him a number to call, we surmised that it was probably a power cut. We had some lunch at a pub that I nearly booked and then went on possibly the worst recommended coastwalk we've ever done. We abandoned the walk halfway through and luckily discovered that we were really close to the Park and Ride where we'd left our car. A quick look at the map and we headed for Seatown where we had a delicious ice cream and searched for fossils. The sun put in a few appearances during the day but it was nowhere near what we were promised.
