Feet up

Sat outside at my mum's after 3 different contractors came this morning, one to fill the holes in the path, one to concrete and one to tarmac.

Then the surveyor and two building contractors came who were really lovely and reassuring. Wheels will turn slowly unfortunately but made me believe everything will be repaired and the house will be as strong as it was before the impact.

Have had a number of 'ambulance chasers' trying to represent me and I am really annoyed at how somebody older/more vulnerable might have been persuaded to sign up. When I said I wasn't, he said I would have to 'project manage the rebuild myself and find the contractors'. I think I am going to trust the surveyor appointed by my insurer with 5 qualifications after his name who said he is my project manager for the rebuild, as opposed to the man who calls himself a 'major incident manager'.

The CSI lady called tonight as she's been off since it happened but has been thinking of me ever since and wanted to know how I was coping.

The world generally is filled with a lot of very good people.
