Boing!

Today has been a bit of a potter about day. Not really with anything in mind, other than just getting a few bits done. A friend popped over for a coffee, so we had a good old catch up.

The Eldest was invited for a play at a friend's place after school, however the mother didn't turn up at school pick up, and the friend was vague about what had been agreed - "Maybe we will come over and collect Pets a bit later". Um, OK then...

The mother didn't answer her phone, so I took the Eldest with me, and text the mother. The mother finally got back to me in a really flaky, wishy washy way, so after quite a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, the play hasn't happened. I'm not a helicopter parent by any means, but there's some things that are essential as far as I'm concerned...and none of them happened with this.

Because the Eldest had plans, the Youngest has arranged for her friend Lil to come for a sleepover tonight. I have to share this clip that wasn't used on a telly programme last week, to give you a flavour of this friend of the Youngests...she's a wee treat! 7 Days (which this was filmed for) is kind of a poor man's 'Have I Got News for You', and this is from a segment filmed at school last week in both of my kids' classes from their "my kid could draw that' segment. Basically, the show the child with their picture, the panel then have to guess the news article from the previous week it refers to, and then the child tells the story.

The Husband is off at the Comedy Club tonight, so it is just us girls.
