Onion-stalk Parasol Mushroom ~Leucocoprinus cepist
We have a large pile of wood chips at the end of our driveway - the result of The Husband having asked a tree crew he saw near the house if they wanted a place to get rid of the chips they were creating (also a lot of large chunks of wood, but that's another story). Since we finally had some rain last week we now have a burgeoning mushroom farm down there. These are, Seek tells me, onion-stalk parasol mushrooms. The extra shows one of the large groupings of them. Wikipedia says they are edible but "not very palatable." Well then. I guess come the apocalypse we could eat them to fend off starvation - unless starvation looks like a better choice - but for now I'll leave them be. There is also tiny a bonus insect, I see. So...Tiny Tuesday!
