It is Friday

Quite a few surprises last night. Burbundy's Wine Bar was so full of people as it was also a real ale festival. I suppose the good news was a choice of about 30 real ales. But I soon realisised that it would be impossible to get a good seat to do a sketch of the jazz players. I sat next to Alice and David and realised that it would be a lovely idea to paint Alice, who is a regular at the thursday jazz evenings. So inspired I got my kit out but I just could not believe it I had forgotten my paints. Sheil had taken a blipfoto of my paint box and I had forgotten to bring it. So the fallback was a drawing and it was a real pleasure to draw Alice.
The jazz group was fronted by Tim Barty on Baritone sax, Mo Witham on guitar, Bert Steels on double bass and Ted Richards on drums - a great sound. My second sketch was of Bert and Ted and it is .here It never ceases to amaze me what sparks the ispiration.
