Diary of an Edinburgher

In Praise of Prêt…

Becky came today to take Archie out. She’s handed in her dissertation, so feels she can relax now. They went up Blackford Hill instead of a walk in the Meadows.

I took a bus into town - I wanted to check out data plans with other providers, as I think I could get a better one. But guess what - I’m on a two year contract, so that was that.

I had a walk round town and was impressed with the number of litter pickers I saw. Pity they only do the city centre, and not the ‘burbs.

A coffee was needed. And yes, Prêt was there, right by my bus. Also, Prêt are good, consistently good. I am never disappointed with a Prêt coffee. Or a Prêt pain au raisin… And they don’t charge extra for oat milk.

I hopped off the bus and had a wander down the Royal Mile. It was busy, but not the normal August mobbed. The standard of statues wasn’t brilliant. One woman stood holding a green foetus, and apparently wanted people to give her money… (Extras)

The suitcases are out. Archie is suspicious. But this time he’s in for a surprise. We’re off on a jaunt, over the Forth Bridge this time. And Archie is coming with us!
