The Head of Medusa

DawnAgain and I called in one of the several thousand pounds worth of favours that James owes us as we left Hector in his slightly less than capable hands to go and re-visit the fabulous roman villa at Bignor.  Some of the mosaics, such as this Head of Medusa in the bath house, are utterly amazing.  They look so simple, yet the more you look at them, the more complex they appear to be.  Utterly enthralling.

And for anyone who is thinking me slightly harsh on my little boy, when we got back, the four of them were sitting around the dining table with numerous empty beer tins playing a drinking game than involved lots of swearing and lots of drinking.  I fear it's going to be a long evening!
