Amandine's Plot Treize

Last outdoor tomato plant standing

I've deliberately not talked about blight here as it's a painful topic.

In wet summers, outdoor tomatoes generally get struck by blight (a fungus that spreads quickly and turns the plant black). The only solution is to pull out and burn all the affected plants. A few weeks ago, I lost 20 plants to the dreaded disease.

This is the only survivor (outside, I still have tomato plants in the greenhouse).

There's nothing like caring for plants for months and losing them when they're covered in fruit. Such a waste of resources!

Oh well, next year... The good thing with gardening is you always get another chance!
