Former site of Cedar House School

Over the last fifteen years or so, there's been a fair amount of new homes built around Kirkby Lonsdale, which is all to the good; we need more houses and for the most part - and for what it's worth - I think it's been done pretty well, even if I cannot understand the aesthetic choices the developers make about their creations.

As you can imagine, most of the new houses are built on the outskirts of the town where there is room to expand into but occasionally there are developments within the existing bounds of Kirkby Lonsdale, such as on the former site of the Cedar House School.

They've already achieved that neat trick of taking a piece of land that looks just about big enough for erecting a shed, only for a substantial house to appear on the site. It's not finished yet, though.

I assume these stones are for completing the wall but, as I walked down into town to meet Dan for a drink when he finished work, I wondered why they've parked that machine on top.
