The Picture House

A busy day.

Today I had my first cooked breakfast in just over 2 months… we met up with our son at Wetherspoons (The Winter Seam) at Xscape near Castleford, not too far from his new house. After that we all wandered across to the outlet and met up with our daughter and husband and the two granddaughters. After coffee we all went back to son’s house for lunch.

This derelict old building (The Picture House) is in Castleford town centre, just a short walk away. It looks though it was a grand building in its day. I have added a slightly different view in extras

It opened in 1921 and closed in1964 and since then it has also been a pub and nightclub

It was badly damaged by fire in 2017

It is currently owned by a developer who wants to create a ‘community facility’ with a gym, a restaurant and a bar.

My entry for Derelict Sunday - thanks to Marlieske for hosting again
