More Family Learning Week

Today we had the wee ones and the big ones with their families. The wee ones were on woodland art. They had a HUGE collection of pine cones, twigs, leaves, beechnuts and other goodies from the woods. They all made masterpieces from the natural store and then had to make muddy pictures using feet, hands, paintbrushes, mums, dads, grannies - whatever was handy!!

The big ones had tarmac playground games - chanting, singing, chasing, parachute, balls and hoops...just fantastic! Lots of mums joining in ...very competitive but all very good fun!

Over a nice hot cuppa, we got views and ideas from the families - Where do children play in the town? What stops children going outside? Where do they go as a family? What are the big issues?

Parents and grandparents have signed up to compile a booklet of where families can go during the hols for FREE in the town..

There will also be another booklet called "The 67" - the bus that goes from the coast to central Borders. It will give ideas of free places to go and things to do - all for the cost of the bus fare to get there! Just fabbie!

It's also the Dance Festival in the morning -- we are presenting "Pirates" and 4 Scottish Reels....very a tad proud - again!!
