Red Kite

Managed to get a few shots at Tollie on the Brahan estate. It was bitterly cold and I'd forgotten how much colder it can be up there compared with home although it's only a few miles further north and although it's higher it's not all that high. But much more exposed to the cold wind. It was hard to choose between two shots as none really stuck out but in the end this one seemed more natural. The other shot shows much better the shape of the tail but it was taken against a featureless grey cloud and my minor tweaking has made it look a little unnatural. It seems to be holding a piece of meat - possibly venison which the RSPB can get from the estate.
