More flax

Today we tried ‘dressing’ our distaffs the traditional way with ribbons having first tied the ribbon to one end of the bunch of fibres, wrapped the ribbon round our waists and then fanned the flax out on a table before rolling it onto the cone and decoratively zig zagging the ribbon around it Maypole fashion. That’s mine in the foreground. We’ve also warped looms ready for weaving tomorrow - it’s all go. I gave myself an evening off to relax in the van!
