Care, Connection & Affection
We woke up in our cool room and headed to the main part of the hotel to collect our breakfast - a bit of toing and froing as we'd not realised we needed to buy our coffee from a machine with specific change requirements!
Mid morning we met Mike and Daveen and set off for Spain to meet their friends, The Wagon Family. A long drive where the temperatures steadily rose (and we'd thought we were escaping today's extreme heat!). After a bit of searching and talking to a local guy (who gave us 2 watermelons for free when he realised the Family were friends "any friend of Mikael is a friend of mine".) who told us where they were living and working, we found them! They were clearly delighted to see Mike and Daveen again. Absolutely fascinating seeing the orchard where they're living and working. And then off to lunch at a place near-ish by... Lovely to get to know them more over lunch, and over the hugest steak I have ever seen. 3 of us ate meat from mine and there was still some left to take home!
Home and we walked back from Mike and Daveen's land to town, we must have taken a wrong turn as we waded through long grass on a narrow path...it wouldn't have mattered except that we were aware the light was fast going! Anyway, back safe and we're being serenaded by a concert that's happening in the town square.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Meeting this special family..there's obviously something very different about them, something...special!! Extra of them, unfortunately Mike's not in it!
2) Yet again, all of Mike's driving.
3) Listening to this beautiful evocative music as I blip.
