Spring in the air?

It certainly didn't feel anything like spring as I took my lunchtime walk on yet another very cold day, but the coots on the lake at Alvaston Park are clearly starting to turn their minds to mating and are getting very territorial.

There were fights breaking out all over the lake. I stood and watched these two going at it for several minutes. It was really quite alarming.
