Surprise!

We decided to go to Howe Ridding for a walk and hopefully to do my butterfly transect, the weather being rather iffy.
It turned out better than expected as the sun shone, it was 19C, and surprise! There was a High Brown Fritillary! These have become very scarce along my route and I really wasn’t expecting one, but there it was feeding on the knapweed. You just don’t know what you may find!
