On Top Of The World

We were feeling on top of the world up here. Not only we we on high moorland in The Peak District, but we were having the most wonderful time! Rachel had taken some time off work to enjoy this with us.

I didn't think anything that happened later in the day could beat the visit to Mayfield Alpacas for a blip. They had a great collection of creatures to look at and the alpacas were very friendly, especially towards visitors with bags of food!

For our own feeding time we went to The Fox House, which I always thought was in Derbyshire, but it has a Sheffield address. Very nice meal there!

Now after a huge meal, nothing would be better than a nap but no! We were off for a scramble up to Surprise view. What a view it was! The walk up through the birch woodland amongst the bracken was lovely then we were onto the moor with heather for miles.

We came home to a barbecue tea which had been prepared for us and the children had friends around to splash in the pool.

Such an enjoyable day!
