Cascade
I knew it was bad when I opened the door to the garage and the humidity hit me, but going outside was another level entirely. The air was thick and heavy and sticky and hot and the dim light did nothing for my enthusiasm.
I knelt to frame a flower shot and it took a minute to figure out why I couldn't focus. I realised eventually there was condensation on my lens - that was a first! In winter, I knew to leave the camera in the garage when going inside from the cold, but in this heat it was a surprise.
In the end the low light helped me to find this composition. I liked the way the white flowers cascaded down through the frame. At this focal length, f8 is quite shallow, enough to pick out just some of the tiny yarrow flowers. The image has an air of mystery, with few details emerging from the darkness.
