Tappoch Broch
A day away with the Linlithgow Ramblers exploring the area around Larbert, Denny and Torwood. I had been attracted by the opportunity to visit the Torwood Blue Pool, however the Broch and Torwood Castle proved much more interesting having not heard of either. Until today I had always thought that Brochs were a feature of the Highlands and Islands.
The Blue Pool is only blue when the sun shines; it rained today. And I think the Broch is probably best viewed in the winter, the bracken covering the well preserved lintel and completely obscuring the walls.
Great rambler chat with a very friendly group of folk. On my return to central station I booked train tickets for London next week and then got a great deal with the Vancouver Studios in Notting Hill.
