Elgol. And more.
Elgol was outstanding. The water clear, the Cuillin on display (extra photo). We just soaked up this very familiar territory. Not busy, and even quieter when we wandered along the foreshore a wee bit. We just chilled. It was great being together here again. I don’t need to write more.
After lunch and chat at the shop we’d a detour to Glasnakille, then headed back up Strathaird peninsula. We walked a bit of the Strath Mor path, mountains rise steeply on either side. It was a bit boggy so we turned back after the boat (extra). The rest of the afternoon was spent on the path from Camas Malag to Suisnish; great views (extras). It was warm, quiet and very pleasant.
Pizza was had at Cafe Sia in Broadford; it’s a place we all like (extras). Our older son and wife were there recently; friends had called ahead and squared up their bill as part of their wedding present - how good was that?!
Later in the evening we went back to Sligachan. The (extra) photo is of Mackenzie (mountain guide) and Collie, pioneer climbers who mapped the Cuillin in the late 1800s. The statue erected last autumn.
Midges were making themselves known on our last evening.
