Scoat Tarn (2)

When you wake up, open the tent door and are greeted with this you know three things:
(1) You're blessed.
(2) A swim will be happening.
(3) Blip is done :-)

A leisurely start after a fantastic evening watching shooting stars and bats.

We headed up Red Pike (extra 1) before making our way across to Steeple. A fantastic steep descent took us into the woodland of Ennerdale... where it was swelteringly hot. We had to stop a whiles by the river to cool down and filter more drinking water. The heat (still applying suncream at 7pm!) and our legs made us decide not to head up onto High Stile (especially knowing we wouldn't find any water) so we took the glorious valley path (extra 2) until we could climb to Scarth Gap and over Haystacks to camp at Innominate Tarn (extra 3 - can you see our duckling visitors?...)
