Let’s welcome the Hummingbird Clearwing Moth into the Buddleia Bush Arena as we get set for the Gold Medal Competition for the Daylight Pollination Sprint. Later tonight my colleague will bring you the Nocturnal Pollination Sprint Finalists • Today, we have Hector, the Hummingbird Moth; Burt, the Bumblebee; Golden Digger Wasp, Wanda, and last, Frida Hover Fly • Each of our finalists competed in three separate heats over this past week with the weather, believe it or not, as the biggest factor. Rainy conditions for Round One, Windy and cool temperatures Round 2, then drizzle and humidity on the last round. Today’s Gold Medal match will prove to be just as challenging with hot and humid conditions • You have to admire the dedication and commitment of these AOG athletes, always representing the very best of their communities • After today, only two days of competition are left to enjoy.
