Day 14

If you’re just tuning in, let me get you up to speed on this brand new AOG event “The Scavenger Hunt”. It’s only the first day of this multi-day competition and already Team Mourning Dove is in the Penalty Box! By all accounts it appeared Maura and Mortie were purposely challenging the officials early on to determine what would be called a foul. It didn’t take long for the Head Official (HO for short) to throw out the red flag after several consecutive warnings to Team Mourning Dove. They were penalized for Unbirdlike Behavior, to include overt pecking and vocalizing at their opponents. Mortie had an extra five minutes added for doing a 40mph flyby over the HO’s head! The whistling sound of his wings drowned out the HO’s exclamation but we can all imagine what was said! A blessing really with so many juveniles in the stands • It’s been nothing but drama here this morning, but let’s not forget about the other competing teams still out on the course, searching and foraging for those prized corn kernels! We’ll be here for as long as we can today as our AOG Forecasters are predicting rain for the afternoon and evening. I’m anxious to see how Team Mourning Dove performs after their cool down period. They’re definitely the team to watch.
