No 25 Northiam again…

drifting down the bank into Wittersham Road station filmed by a visitor to the signalbox while I prepared to exchange the single line token with the fireman.

My first turn at Wittersham Road on the standard two trains running five return trips. That meant three crossing moves where one train waits in the platform loop while the train in the other direction passes by on the through line. That’s the first time I’ve done that for nearly two years.

My visitors were the parents of the bridegroom who is marrying our friend Rosemary’s daughter in October. Danny is keen on railways and was delighted to be invited into the box, work a few levers and appreciate the mechanical and electrical engineering which is well over 100 years old.

Fortunately, despite its venerability, everything worked as it should. Back again at this location on Saturday.
