CREPE MYRTLE: Lythraceae

Every year I get a little sad when the Jacaranda Trees finishing blooming.
However, this year, the CREPE MYRTLE TREES are stealing the thunder.
Although we are in a severe drought, they do not seen to notice,
(SEE EXTRA) & are blooming more than any previous year.  Our city has planted them all along the main thoroughfares, which makes for a 
beautiful drive.
