Not nice weather for them

I was working at home but had to nip up to the office on an errand and saw this raft of tufted ducks from the bus stop. They were still in the same place when I returned an hour later. They weren't feeding or active in any way, just sitting tight. If you look large you may be able to detect their grumpy expressions. The wind, rain, sleet etc were such that it wasn't even nice weather for ducks.

I was reminded of the way the ships come in from the North Sea to the relative calm of the Firth of Forth during bad weather. Sure enough, when I looked at AIS there were about a dozen out there riding at anchor.
