Unplanned rendezvous...
Backblipped 02.08.21
When Agnes got home last night she realised she'd left her overnight case in the guest bedroom. We arranged to meet her at Stirling services this afternoon to hand it over.
Drew arrived for coffee just after 10am. His timing was perfect as I was just taking freshly baked scones from the oven when he arrived. First debate was jam or cream first and we all agreed cream (as the butter substitute) first with a dollop of jam on top aka Devon style.
We had a lovey couple of hours catching up. Drew and Audrey are hoping to retire here in a couple of years. It would be great to have them nearby. They would like to purchase a house now and rent it out till they are ready, but the property market is moving so fast at the moment. Told him we are happy to view on their behalf if anything comes up that they are serious about.
Drew left just after midday and after lunch David and I headed to Stirling to meet up with Agnes to hand over her case. She had her daughter (our god daughter) Emily with her. It's the first time we've seen Emily for over a year so that was lovely.
Emily recently got engaged to her boyfriend Sam but due to covid they've been unable to celebrate properly so we are going to organise a date to go out for dinner at our favourite Italian then come back and stay with us. Really looking forward to that.
David and I then headed to Sterling (massive furniture shop) to look at sofas for the living room. Saw a couple we like but forgot the take the measurements of our current sofas so will have to return. Bought some bits and pieces in the cook/housewares section. New place mats and coasters, some reed diffusers and napkins.
Drove home via Glendevon and snapped my blip from Glendevon looking towards Ben Lomond, Crieff and the Kings Course at Gleneagles.
We were having left overs for dinner, curry for David and bolognaise for me. It was then we realised that David had given Agnes the leftover beef bolognaise instead of the veggie! Thankfully she's decided to have the veggie curry tonight. Adrian had the bolognaise :-)
After dinner we settled down to watch the final episode of season one of Outlander...and ended up carrying on and watching the first two episodes of season two! It was a late night!
