Dog falls, Glen Affric

My friend Linda and I took a trip into Beauly in the morning to visit the butchers and the charity shop where I found 4 great new books at the princely sum of £1.50 each. Always good to support a local worthy cause, in this case the Highland Hospice.

Back to the site to have a bite of lunch before we set off to Glen Affric. We took the trail route to the Dog falls and enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours walking through ancient forests and enjoying some delicious wild blaeberries. Phin loved them too and figured out he could lick the lower hanging ones off the bush directly into his mouth.

Stopped off at a little cafe in Tomich for coffee and cake before heading back to the site to get ready to head to my brothers house for dinner.

We had planned to see my brother’s partner Angela and her two teenage children but due to Ethan (age 16) testing positive for Covid, we only met her daughter who is currently camping out at my brother’s house so she can keep working. Ethan was staying with his girlfriends family when he began showing symptoms so his mum is now isolating with him at their house.

We enjoyed a lovely Indian takeaway with my brother and my youngest niece. Phin was reasonably well behaved and we left just after 10 to head back to the site.

Backblipped on Sunday 1st August.
