Dangerous bird?
The Pied Butcherbird is not really dangerous, unless you happen to be an insect or a small lizard. In which case, like its name suggests, you might be impaled on a protruding tree branch and carved into small pieces by that aggressive bill. For humans, its most enjoyable characteristic is its call, described as a 'beautiful, haunting, flute like song'. I photographed this one today on the summit of Lennox Head. The extra puts it in context.
