Grand Debut

I headed up to Blue Mountain Lake today to meet up with some friends and to report on activities at that AOG venue.  One of the very first things I spotted was the Debut of Martha of Team Pennant who had just emerged from her naid form (see the leftover of her aquatic form just above her head.  She was still drying her gorgeous wings when we happened upon her and wasn't willing to give an interview.  Alas.  (Note: this is a Martha's Pennant Celithemis martha, a very small dragon measuring just over one inch.)

Also seen at the Lake today were both the ladies and men's members of Team Swamp Spreadwing Damselfly (see HERE) who were doing slow laps around the shallow end of the pool and practicing their balance beam routines.  There may have been a little hanky-panky going on, too.

The biggest (and perhaps most tragic) news of the day was the announcement that Team Agiorpe's captain, Athena, was being permanently banned from the AOG.  She was a favorite to win the zipper-weave competition and her team members are devastated.  Unfortunately, we came upon her as she was wrapping up one of the young members of Team Pondhawk - it was murder most foul and a shock to all the spectators.  The paparazzi went wild and more than one shutter was seen to smoke during the ensuing media frenzy.  To spare the more sensitive among you, I have opted to put the photographic evidence HERE on Flickr - not for the feint of heart.

Back at the Home Arena, the first member of Team Monarch Caterpillar completed the very tricky task of pupating and is now hanging from the roof of the Stadium, a shiny green orb.  His teammate, H, is also on the roof, preparing to do his Pupation Routine, perhaps tomorrow.
