XXV Mänttä Art Festival & Banksy

We did family trip to Mänttä today. First we visited Mänttä Art Festival and then Banksy exhibition in the Serlachius Museums Gösta. In the picture is Tiitus Petäjäniemi's painting called Dog and Sausage.

The Mänttä Art Festival is the largest summer exhibition of Finnish contemporary art. The title of this year’s exhibition is To Err is Human. The exhibition presents 47 artists or artist groups and highlights the diversity of contemporary art in artistic mediums, styles, perspectives, languages and nationalities. The curator of the XXV Mänttä Art Festival is Anna Ruth.

The Banksy. A Visual Protest exhibition showcases the world’s most famous street artist, whose visually skilful and biting works also incorporate humanity and warm humour. The exhibition, implemented in collaboration with 24 Ore Cultura of Milan, brings Banksy’s production to Finland for the first time on such a scale. The exhibition includes over hundred works borrowed from various collections, particularly well-known examples of the artist’s early production. This is not an official Banksy exhibition, as it has not been authorised by the artist himself. The exhibition is curated by Gianni Mercurio.

Then we had lunch picnic at the museum's park.
