Back on Home Turf...er...Water!
We arrived in Skipton basin at 11am after a very pleasant journey through the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. We've been to lots of lovely place over the last 2 months but coming back to our own area is just wonderful. While Frank was steering the boat I cleaned out cupboards and the wardrobe and sprinkled lavender oil in there.
We moored up at Pennine Cruisers to fill up with diesel. We didn't notice that Bella had jumped off the boat and straight into the pub until I opened the hatch doors! She knows everyone there and the staff both at The Boathouse Bar and Pennine Cruisers love her to bits and make a big fuss of her. She stayed there the whole time Frank was sorting the boat out.
We are now back on our mooring and I've packed most things up and put them in the car ready for home tomorrow.
The garden here at the mooring is so overgrown but we'll come back to sort it out and wash the boat exterior when the weather has cooled down.
There is a very welcome breeze outside now. It has been unbearably hot today.
I put Bella in the shower earlier and gave her a thorough wash - she was filthy and I think she quite enjoyed it for a change. I set the water to luke warm and she looks a lot cleaner and more comfortable now.
We're just watching Cold Comfort Farm.
Goodnight - keep cool! ;-)X
