Not my house, fortunately

We have just re-joined the National Trust. We were members when the kids were younger and we lived in Sussex which was full of places to visit. Norfolk is not so well stuffed but, as we have more time now, we can travel further afield.
Our first visit was to Oxburgh Hall, originally built in the 15th century with lots of subsequent improvements. Unfortunately in 2016  they found serious problems with the roof and the whole thing had to be replaced. Currently most of the building is wrapped up like a giant Christmas present while they sort it out, should be finished by year end. Meanwhile we can only visit the ground floor and external photos are not too impressive, unless you like scaffolding
A few months ago, during further checks on the buildings fabric, Death Watch Beetle was found in the library. This is why everything is now covered and the ceiling is supported by the orange temporary columns, the room was only reopened to the public yesterday.
I am very glad my house is a lot newer and , hopefully, more sound.
