Chop Chop.....
A busy one today.
The silage team arrived at 7am to start chopping and carting from down the road.
There were 9 tractors and trailers on carting so the man on the pit wasn’t getting much time to shove each load up . I went to try and roll the pit with the wee Landini tractor, but gave up at lunch time as I was just getting in the way of the buckrake.
Littlemiss next door helping roll up wool as the shearing gang in doing some of the hill blackie ewes.
I headed off to bale hay.
By 7 pm tonight they had finished lifting 120 acres of silage, I had baled 40 acres of hay and they had sheared 500+ hill ewes. Not a bad days work.
Headed off down the road tonight to shut all the field gates and jag a lame cow with some antibiotics.
Back home via the chip shop at 9.30 pm and the sun had nearly set.
Worked out that there was about £ 1.75 million worth of kit trundling about the farm today , and that’s before they all filled up with diesel before they left !
Roll on tomorrow.
