Back to the folks'
After work tonight I packed a few things for me and George and drove across London to my parents' house in Bedfordshire. That makes it sound like it was a spontaneous decision. It wasn't but I didn't realise my sodding sat nav would take me right through central London, past London Bridge and through some really stress-inducing junctions. It was pissing it down and since cleaning my windscreen with glass cleaner it seems to make the glare of headlights about ten times worse. It wasn't busy though, so we made it through without dying.
This photo is of my brother Andrew and my dad. Andrew was also visiting for the weekend and had come from the Forest of Dean. He is a doctor and we were laughing about terrible medical programmes on TV where they get people to strip off naked and shove a camera up their arse.
My dad is sporting a cool strip on his forehead which I think is intended for headaches but it actually stops him sneezing. I've never met anyone who sneezes as much as my dad. He only discovered this head strip trick in the last couple of years and I thought it was hilarious at first, especially as he has gone to the shop with it on a few times by mistake. I think people in the village know dad as an old, slightly eccentric gent anyway, so no one batted an eyelid.
