Ancient burial mound

The return of a cold snap has seen the mountains again covered in snow.

Here we have the Campsie Hills in the background with the famous Fairie Knowe of Bridge-of-Allan in the middle distance.

This is one of a number ancient burial grounds in central Scotland and its believed to go back to the Stone Age.

It was excavated in 1868 by Sir J.E. Alexander. They found human and animal bones in this burial ground along with a prehistoric beaker along with remains of pots.
