Big Butterfly Count.

According to Chris Packham on BBC Breakfast this morning it is the start of the "BBC" - see above, lasting into August.  The public are invited to spend 15 minutes at a location and submit a count of how many butterflies and day-flying moths they see.  Last evening I met up with two Camera Club colleagues at Hockley Woods and we saw none at all!  To make up for it I thought I would photograph some at the allotment.  They tend to be just part of the general scene and I do not take much notice of them - mostly seen as a nuisance as they are generally "cabbage whites".  With more flowers than ever across the whole site, especially with English lavender in full bloom there were quite a few to choose from - hence the montage.  Might do some more.
