As I sat at my study desk busily scanning and processing old photo prints, and preparing my unicorn blip, Smokey was delivering a masterclass in the Zen art of relaxation.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Jackson C Frank - Blues Run The Game (1965)
This song was never a hit in this country as far as I know, but has been recorded many times over the past 40 years and more. This original version was produced in England by Paul Simon. When recording the album, Frank was so shy that he sang from behind screens so that Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel and Al Stewart could not watch him perform. Simon and Garfunkel were one of the first to record their own version of the song, though it was not released at the time. John Renbourn and Sandy Denny (Frank's girl friend at the time) were other early adopters. Nick Drake also used to perform the song, as did Bert Jansch. More recently Alela Diane recorded it with Headless Heroes, and Laura Marling does a version of it. In a break with tradition I plan to include several of these versions once per week in the weeks to come.
