Cappadocia Day #4
Robin's birthday! and a very nice day it was too. I'm feeling much much better - so maybe the malaise really was a reaction to last Friday's covid vaccination - so I felt well enough to go on this morning's walk with her to one of the main hiker/tourist attractions in the area known as Aşıklar Vadisi ('Love Valley') - you can guess why. We only really did the flat part - relentless shadeless sun made it too arduous to clamber about, but I did take several photos.
Afternoon was spent in Ürgüp where I bought a much needed pair of Merrell sandals and in Göreme, where Robin bought the most beautiful camel saddle bag, opened up to use as a floor covering. Then a couple of hours relaxing in the courtyard of our hotel before going to Ziggy's restaurant for (birthday) dinner, where sitting on the terrace was a bit breezy! - first time we've felt chilly for a very long time. The rest of the evening, several hours of it, was spent in the hotel terrace bar with the view I posted yesterday, celebrating Robin's birthday with Murat, Jerry and Crystal who'd bought both cake and champagne! Other alcoholic beverages may also have been inbibed.
