It wasn’t to be

This was one of two photos I took today while watching the men’s Wimbledon final this afternoon. A valiant attempt by the Italian and he will return for more contests I am sure. That was after we spent 45 minutes before the promised rain in the morning digging up another large bamboo root. We have several more to go. I remember talking with our garden designer about the vigour of the particular bamboos she sourced. She wasn’t keen on the two plants I had bought but in retrospect they are much more suitable as they haven’t spread. I caught up with my ironing while watching the tennis and found a way to keep an eye on the football on my IPad with the sound turned off while I watched something else on the TV. I did however watch the penalties on TV although it didn’t make them any better.
