long lost leeks

When I removed the shelter netting tunnel from this small veg bed I uncovered these long forgotten leeks. It will be interesting to see if they gradually straighten up and the seed heads open.

It wasn't very pleasant trying to get garden tasks done today because of the flies which buzzed round my head in a most annoying way. It was mild, with hardly a breathe of wind - perfect conditions to bring the flies out in clouds. I gave up in the afternoon and finished my book (reading not writing).
