Ignore at your peril

There are many hints that Bowral really is a country town. One of them is this ground-level pedestrian crossing over the railway line. I rarely walk on this side of the railway line and I certainly never use this crossing. I have a healthy distrust of the signalling system. Today it was working . I had no sooner taken the photo of the lights when a massive diesel engine with multitudinous cargo cars (is that what they are called?) flew past me at great speed. I didn't even have time to capture the engine properly. I think I will stick with my cautious approach to such crossings.
