Sally Mair - Loving life

Safely here at last. All the travel went really well and we arrived about 1pm.
Checked into our accommodation and changed into walking stuff and we headed straight down to St Columba Bay. Gosh my legs suffered. It was really warm and humid so a hard walk. It's about 2 miles. We arrived at the bay at around 3.30pm and spent an hours or so gazing intently at the stones around our feet looking for some serpentine or a St Columba's tear stone. They are a tiny almost transparent green stone and much prized. I found one green stone and lots of serpentine. We threw a stone into the water when leaving which is supposed to guarantee a return. We headed back over the hill getting back just in time for dinner at 6.30.
The picture above is the view from our outdoors table at the Columba Hotel looking across the Sound to Fionnphort on Mull. The building in front is Bishop's House where we would normally stay, but not this year.
It's a beautifully still evening the quiet disturbed only by the sound of bird song..... and corncrakes! I'm looking forward to a good sleep tonight.
Keep safe everybody, it's lovely to be able to enjoy being away from home again, and feeling safe.

Apologies I'm unlikely to manage to comment on journals if the wifi remains as poor. Hopefully I'll manage to upload my daily blip though.

It's Friday so here's the Art Quiz link- 9 for me today, how about you?
