sweet

The morning started nicely when Joanna came to the door with some seeds for me and a bunch of everlasting sweet peas from her garden. The sweet peas have a lovely scent, quite different from the annual kind, very delicate. They are such a beautiful deep velvety colour as well.

I managed some haymaking while the sun shone (well, before the rain came). We are using the big grass rakes to put the mown grass into big piles. It's quite physical work so I hope to get some muscles at the end of it :-)

I also had a dry walk, around North West Dumfries after a visit to the Post Office at Lochside.

We have just finished eating our tea, which was a pea, courgette and broad bean risotto. It won't be long before my own broad beans are ready to eat. They are always the one thing I can rely on to be successful in the garden.

Today's walk: NW Dumfries 4.09 miles
