Hailstorm over Tennyson Down
Most of this afternoon was spent dodging the showers along the southern coast between Ventnor and Freshwater. Winds were approaching gale force creating some spectacular waves as they hit the shore at high tide.
From many pictures taken I had the rare problem as what to blip but settled on this one taken at Hanover Point looking towards The Needles and Tennyson Down. I had pulled in to sit out an enormous shower of hailstones which almost obliterated the road. The picture was taken as the storm passed overhead heading towards the downs. Any walkers caught on top of Tennyson Down would have got a real battering.
If you look in'L' for Large you may be able to spot the lone surfer.
