Houton (Day 2253)

Off to the bathroom fit first thing this morning where I found that the joiner hadn't got on as well as anticipated, leaving me unable to make any progress. While I was there, I got a call out to Stromness to look at a shower which wasn't working properly.
I had fitted the shower a couple of days ago and was surprised that the customer was reporting a problem. A couple of checks pointed to a problem with the electrical isolator outside the bathroom. A bit of a relief that the problem was nothing to do with me, but a pain for the customer who awaits the services of an electrician.
From Stromness I headed to a very misty Birsay to change an outside tap which was reportedly very old and stuck off. Before dragging any tools out of the van, I tried turning it on myself and found it working without any problems.
Next on the list was a trip to Houton to have a look at a dripping shower. I will need to source new parts for it, never an easy job when there are no identifying marks on the shower. As I left, I stopped to get a quick pic of the view across the bay at Houton, a place of many happy childhood holidays.
Home for lunch and a wander out with Sigyn at Lyde. We were joined along the way by my beautiful wife. Sigyn celebrated the re-unification of the pack by dunking her face in an incredibly muddy puddle.
Later, as HV zoomed off to work, I headed to town to look at another possible bathroom re-fit, and to give another potential customer a bit of advice on her bathroom re-fit plans.
