The original blip was taken down because it showed an image on TV. These were the words:

Fifty years ago women tennis players were ‘ladies’ and they often wore pretty, frilly frocks and matching cardigans on court.

This year Ash Barty is wearing an outfit trimmed with laser cut flowers and a scalloped hem, decoration that recalls the dress worn by Evonne Goolagong when she won the ladies’ singles title at Wimbledon in 1971.

What a lovely idea. I hope it’s an omen for this year.

There are images of the frocks on the web.
